Claims and traceability

See how every claim depends on every other.

Claims are where a patent's scope lives. Dossier draws them as trees and as one portfolio-wide graph, and gives agents four read-only tools to look a claim up before anyone amends it.

Claim tree

From the broad claim to the narrow one.

Pick an application and Dossier shows its independent claims and the dependent claims beneath them, so you can follow the chain of narrowing from a broad system claim to a specific embodiment.

Dependency graph

The whole portfolio as one graph.

Every claim is a node, colored by application and sized by whether it is independent. Solid edges are dependencies inside an application, and dashed edges are references across applications. Filter by shared terminology, click a node for its details, and double click to read the claim. Where the portfolio maps claims to code, a node also shows the code location and whether the claim is implemented.

Analytics

Counts you can sort a portfolio by.

The analytics page lines the applications up in a matrix of claims, independent and dependent claims, inventions, figures, and words, and links each one to its claim tree.

For agents

Four tools, one rule: never invent a dependency.

Dossier's MCP tools answer the questions that come before an amendment, and they only report what the claims say.

context and impact

Context returns a claim's text, its parent, its direct dependents, and the figures its own text cites. Impact lists every claim that depends on it, hop by hop, so you know what an amendment would touch.

search and overview

Search finds claim text and ranks it by how many claims depend on it. Overview summarizes one application: its independent claims, totals, and related applications.

A dependent claim can only point at a claim in its own application, so Dossier drops a broken or out-of-range reference and logs it instead of guessing. The tools run in a separate read-only process that Roost serves to agents.
